About Your Howick Hypnotherapist
I'm a certified hypnotherapist (non-medical) based in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, working with clients locally, and through online sessions, across South Africa and internationally.
A Practical, Structured Approach
My approach is practical and structured: rather than viewing habits like smoking or vaping as simple failures of willpower, I work with the subconscious patterns that drive them, helping clients build genuine, lasting change rather than a short-term fix.
Every session is built around your specific habits, triggers, and goals, not a one-size-fits-all script. In practice, that means:
- We map your pattern. When does the habit fire, and what comes just before it: stress, a particular place, the end of a meal, a social setting?
- We rehearse a new response. In a focused, relaxed state, we practise the situation going differently, until the new response starts to feel like the default.
- You practise between sessions. The session sets the direction; the repetition in between is what makes the change hold.
- We check progress against your goal. Each session starts with where things actually stand compared with where we said we'd be.
The Gap Between Knowing and Doing
Most people who come to me aren't short on information. They know what the habit costs them. They've read the articles, tried the patches, and set the quit date more than once. What they haven't been able to shift is the automatic pull: the part of the mind that reaches for the cigarette, the vape, or the old routine before there's a conscious thought attached to it.
That gap between knowing and doing is where hypnotherapy is genuinely useful, and it's why I keep my work deliberately focused: helping people stop smoking and vaping, supporting men's health and confidence, and resetting habits that have stopped serving them.
Qualifications & Training
I provide a gentle, collaborative process where we work together to support your relaxation, focus, and personal growth. This is a complementary approach and not a replacement for medical or psychological care. I do not diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions. If you have concerns about your health, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
“Non-medical” is a deliberate description of how I practise. I don't position hypnotherapy as a substitute for care from a doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist. Where something falls outside what hypnotherapy can responsibly help with, I'll tell you, and where I can, point you towards the right person.
Sessions at Clear Horizon Are
Structured
Built around clear goals, not vague relaxation.
Practical
Focused on measurable behavioural change.
Confidential
Especially important for the sensitive nature of men's health work.
Collaborative
I work with each client's specific habits, triggers and goals, rather than a one-size-fits-all script.
How I Practise
Confidentiality
What you bring to a session stays between us, within the limits of South African law. This matters everywhere, and especially in men's health work.
Honesty About Fit
If I don't think hypnotherapy is the right tool for what you're dealing with, I'll say so at our first conversation, not after several sessions.
Realistic Expectations
Results vary from person to person. I'll give you my honest view of what a realistic process looks like for your situation, and what it depends on.
