This privacy policy explains how I, Derek Vorster, trading as Clear Horizon Hypnotherapy ("Clear Horizon", "I", "me"), based in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use this website, book a session, or otherwise get in touch. I am committed to handling your information responsibly, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

I process your personal information on the basis that it is necessary to provide the services you have requested, to meet a legal obligation, or because you have given your consent, for example by submitting the contact form or making a booking.

5. Sharing Your Information

When you submit the contact form, your enquiry is emailed directly to my inbox by this website's server; it is not stored on the website or in a database. If the form cannot be sent that way, it opens your own email app instead so you can send it yourself. Bookings are handled through SimplyBook.me, a third-party online booking platform, which processes your booking details in order to schedule your session. If you leave a comment on the blog, the name, email address and comment you submit, together with your IP address and browser details (used to help detect spam), are stored on this website's server. Comments are reviewed and approved by me before they are published; only your name and comment are shown publicly, never your email address. If you tick the box to save your details, a cookie stores them in your browser for convenience. You can ask me to edit or remove a comment at any time. I do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law.

6. Data Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

I keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide services to you, maintain appropriate records, and meet any legal or regulatory requirements, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate visitor numbers and which pages are viewed. It does not set cookies, does not store your IP address, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you across other websites. No information that identifies you personally is collected.

The website sets no other cookies or tracking scripts of its own. The online booking widget, provided by SimplyBook.me, may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the booking calendar; please refer to SimplyBook.me's own privacy policy for details.

This website and my services are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental or guardian consent.
